"Well what can you say, a tourist attraction and learning centre that prevents you from seeing the actual generating plant and in particular the Archimedes screws. A lot of money was obviously spent on the cover and the surroundings, it attracts attention but when you get there it falls flat and I mean flat. It's purpose is to show river electricity production, how it works and spell out it's advantages. Alas the basic plant involving the moving parts such as the two Archamedies screws that help to produce the electricity, you cannot even see as they are hidden behind fencing, grills and the elaborate cover. Why there isn't a proper gap in the cover or a viewing platform for people to see what's happening is beyond basic comprehension and common sense. 🤔 It's a seriously missed opportunity to liaise with the public and show them a working example."

"This is a must visit place where science meets nature and renewable sources of energy are not just theories but are created in real world environments.This is a great place for science lovers who are curious to learn new things. With all the information about how a natural river can help generate power is fascinating. My kid was in all awe about it."

"The other reviews are correct to state there is not much to see, but there is plenty to read up about. This is quite a unique feature designed for renewable energy. It is powered by an archimedes screw and you can hear it turn. I am glad I made the effort to come and see and learn about this. Great to see such initiatives in place in Inverness."

"Wow!!! An absolutely amazing structure with brilliant interpretation boards. Hydro Ness was built with wildlife in mind, which is obvious with the life I saw around the structure. A fascinating feature and well worth a visit. I was well impressed. Great little walks in the area too."
